Shoeseum of Natural Kickstory

Where Have You Been? Shoeseum of Natural Kickstory Status Update

With a solid 3 months since my last post, it’s a pretty legit question. But if you check out the pics you’ll see 1) exactly where my time has been going and 2) that I haven’t lost any love for the sneaker game (in fact, sometimes now, I’m shopping for two!).

When my daughter was born, I had to really take a look at where my time was going and updating my sneaker blog lost in a horse race to some competing interests like ‘making money’, ‘helping to raise the baby’ and even, ‘trying to get this rap music poppin' (after all, I'll be wearing sneakers for a long time-that expiration date on being a rapping Dad is a little closer at hand).

So, yeah, this is just a check-in and will probably be my last post here for a little while. On the other hand, I wouldn’t bother checking in at all if I didn’t have some big plans for Shoeseum in the future. I will absolutely return to sneaker blogging at some point and maybe, just maybe, this Shoeseum of Natural Kickstory concept will really take flight and become a retail store like I’ve always wanted it to. Stay tuned!

Furthermore, if you want to stay up with my other adventures and the music making in particular check me out on Twitter and follow @lordeasy and @bigxmas. You can also catch me at these illustrious web destinations:

Lastly but certainly not leastly, thanks to all my followers and anyone who has checked this space out. I appreciate you! Keep bouncin’…

Nike- Air Force 180 Volt

Nike brings a little volt-age to bear on  a venerable b-ball silhouette. Hits of electric yellow-y ‘volt’ and a translucent outsole spruce up the black suede upper on the early 90’s classic with notable effect. Coming later this year…

Nike Air Max 1- Fall 2012

A leaked look at some of the upcoming Air Max 1 colorways for fall. Above we have the Summit White/Shaded Blue makeup as well as an all over Dynamic Blue model. You can check out 2 other color options in the set over at sneakerfreaker.

K1X x Colette- DCAC Batik Edition

Another dope, limited, socially conscious release from K1X (Shoeseum big upped their Sierra Leone Pack last year). These spring-y batik looks come out of a collaboration with twenty artists from Freetown’s (Sierra Leone) Lion Base crew. Each artist created their own pattern and the profits from the sale of the shoes (at unstoppable Parisian house of cool Colette) will be making their way back to Sierra Leone. Feel good Friday respect!

Vans Authentic- Watermelon

Having made its initial appearance in Asian markets, the Vans Authentic Watermelon is bringing the summery goodtimes to US shores as we speak. The Watermelon canvas plimsoll first dropped by just over three years ago and gave an encore last summer. Now it’s looking more like an annual thing-sort of like the arrival of (wait for it) actual watermelons! Soak up the sun, kids!

Nike Air Trainer 1- Safari

After a quick detour into Louboutin-land yesterday, we’re back on the Safari, this time with one of Nike’s most iconic silhouettes, the Air Trainer 1. And since the shoe itself is so OG, Nike, it seems, decided to keep that vibe going and grab the original 1987 Safari Print for the heel and forefoot panels here. Available now in Asia, probably headed to the US as a Quick Strike release. Bananas.
